Langkawi

If you are looking to get away from the every day hassle of life Langkawi is the place to acheive that honourable ambition, to emphasise that view the capital Kuah boasts, if that is the right, of the only traffic lights on the island and then there are only three sets.

December through to March are the main months for tourists but because of the climate it is a year round place destination.

Pelangi beach is iideal for the kids, gently shelving great for paddling but when the tide goes out it can be a bit of a trek to reach the sea, however you are so relaxed and have been caught up in the Langkawi feeling that a few extra strides to reach the water are of no consequence.

There are pleanty of shopping areas but not to the degree of Penang, Kuah has a night market and couple of shopping malls without doubt the big attraction is that Langkawi is a duty free area, so that bargain is waiting to be found.

Langkawi treats the eviroment with care it is a part of their heritage and deserves protection. Hence there are an abundance of chances to see wildlife, take a mangrove boat trip or kayak and view birds,butterflies and monitor lizards. Take a nature bike ride through the rice paddy fields, along river banks or through forests wonderful way to get to know Langkawi. A cable car ride is available to those who enjoy panoramic views

Activities, sea kayaking, sailing, boating, horse riding, jungle tours, scuba diving and snorkelling even golf. There is so much you can do just make sure you do have some time to just lay in the sun (not too long) read that book that has sat on the side for weeks and just take a relaxing dip in Lankawis warm sea.

Nightlife does tend to revolve around restaraunts, like all of Malaysia the food is diverse and very good, make new friends over a laisurely meal remember you are on holiday just enjoy.
