Made with Xara Thursday 9th February 2012 Trouble in the Maldives, where next, I guess that is one of the last destinations one would expect any form of unrest. Small islands surrounded by clear blue waters, beautiful beaches, relaxing way of life and the weather is not too bad either, from the outside what more can you want. Difficult to make a judgement at the moment appears to only affecting male just hope it does not spread. Egypt continues in the tourist doldrums travellers lack confidence to take their holiday there, understandable especially as tourists have now been affected, will it recover so much depends on the next government’s attitude to tourism. It does dent the confidence in travel to these areas and puts more pressure on the bread and butter destinations. Even with the Euro crisis client are heading back to those areas mainly on a safety issue. It is a strange old world we live in. Friday 13th January 2012 Year has started well, not fantastic but is an improvement on the final months of 2011. For a few days looked like the Maldives were going to stay with the ban on spa and massage facilities but decision overturned awaiting court decision. Both are a major part of an holiday in the Maldives, it is a place where that sort of pampering fits in with the feel of the location one can only hope the courts find in favour of keeping them otherwise I fear for the future of it as a major holiday destination. There are many equally fine alternatives in the Indian Ocean who no doubt will not be slow in taking advantage of any reduction in tourist facilities in a rival destination.     Open Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm Tel: 01572 822702 Email: tony@freewaytravel.co.uk 1 High Street East, Uppingham,Ruland.
